Who we are, what the place is like inside, and who’s behind the bar. A lifelong tapas bar on Calle Beatas, in central Málaga.
Since 1999
We opened in 1999 on a corner of Calle Beatas nobody wanted back then. Four tables, one griddle and the name over the door — and we haven’t moved since.
The neighbourhood has changed since. So has the city, and so have the prices. The way of eating hasn’t: a tapa to try it, a full plate once you know what you want.
We don’t do fusion. We cook home food, and we still cook it the same way.
The place
Three different spaces in the same spot on Calle Beatas: the bar, the dining room and the terrace. Each is good for something — here’s which one you want.
Where you eat standing and decide as you go.
Three stools at the counter, the tapas display case in full view and the bottles behind it. You don’t book the bar — you turn up, order a caña, point at whatever’s in the case and pick your food right there. The best place to come alone, or with company.

Through the back, quieter, for sitting down properly.
Eight tables under the old beams. This is where families sit on Sundays and where the noise from the bar arrives softened. If you’re staying a while and want to hear each other, ask for this room when you book.

Six tables in the street, in shade from five o’clock.
The street is narrow, so the sun hits at midday and from five o’clock it becomes the best spot in Málaga. In August it fills by eight. We don’t take terrace bookings — it belongs to whoever arrives.
